A Message to the Muslims of the Park on this blessed Friday, August 23, 2024
On Friday, July 5, 2024, the young Khatib in the Masjid in the Park said, “Allah spoke the Qur’an to Jibril and Jibril revealed it to the heart of the Prophet.”
With one sentenced, he rewrote the history of revelation of the Qur’an. He removed the blessed Night of Qadr, laylatu-l-Qadr, when the Qur’an was sent down to the heaven of this world; he obliterated the Guarded Tablet, lawḥ al-Maḥfūẓ, the cosmic event of the descent of the Qur’an to the heaven of this world… and many more fundamental beliefs, all with one stroke, spoken out of ignorance, not malice.
After he finished the salah, I went up to the Minbar to clarify to the congregation that this description of the process of revelation not only demolishes the sacred history, but it also tarnishes our beliefs about the Speech of Allah Most High, which is an important article of faith and Muslims do not believe in what was just said.
I had hardly said the first five words, when two men pounced on me, they tried to snatch the microphone from my hand; one of them stood in front of me and the other violently pulled the microphone.
On July 18, 2024, I received a legal notice from David R. Foster of McLennan Rose law firm, saying: “We act for the Westend Islamic Society of Edmonton (“WISE”), located at 125 Broadview Drive in Sherwood Park, Alberta (“Masjid in the Park”) with respect to the above-noted matter… Take further notice that should you trespass on WISE property, in contravention of this notice, you will be in contravention of the Act and liable for a fine not exceeding $10,000, or imprisonment, or both.”
This banning of a Muslim from the Masjid in the Park has put the people who have issued this notice in the same category as the Quraysh of Makka and Jews of Israel who ban Muslims from entering the Masjids.
This is my epistle to you, O Muslims of Sherwood Park, to stand up against this injustice and take your Masjid back from the control of this husband-wife team, that has hijacked the Masjid.
Recall: They and their children were no where on the site of this Masjid when the one whom they have now banned to enter the Masjid was building the foundations of this Masjid with his blood and sweat.
They even rebelled against their father and father-in-law, who often complaint to me about their behavior; I say this on oath!
O Muslims of Sherwood Park, Rise and take back the Masjid for which you have donated upward of 2 million dollars, for which the Center I head, the Center for Islamic Sciences issued you tax receipts.
O Muslims of Sherwood Park, Rise, for this husband-wife team has consistently tried to feed you an Islam that is not the Islam brought to us by our beloved Prophet, upon him blessings and peace.
They have “eaten up” the Minaret of the Masjid in the Park, brought dogs to the house of Allah, all to please the non-Muslims.
They routinely bring Khatibs who distort the sacred history. For example, on March 8, 2024, the Khatib played havoc with our sacred history, by adding a false narrative about Sayyidina Awais al-Qarni, who, he said, “came to Madinah but the Prophet was out of town”. I sent him a private message to correct this falsehood from the same place so that the congregation, “including children who listened to you do not learn something false; this is most important because when they would discover that they were fed false narratives from Minbar, they would doubt even what was not false.” He has not acted this advise.

O Muslims of the Park: You know, angels take attendance of those who enter the house of Allah. As you enter the Masjid in the Park on this blessed Friday, remember that you have a brother who has been banned from entering the house of Allah.
Remember, Angels are cursing those who prevent Muslims from entering the houses of Allah.
Rise and take back the Masjid you have built.
